I was drying off after a shower when I noticed the skin on my nipples beginning to peel off. It was a few months after my 3-year-old finally weaned.

Because I was pregnant again, I wanted to scream at my nipples: “No, stop! You’ll need that hard-won, toughened outer layer again in a few months!” but…
